INTEL ALERT: BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS
A group of organizers in Bryan-College Station is putting on a pro-Black Lives Matter “Time for Change” protest to fight “police brutality and systemic racism in America.”
SIGACT: The organizers of the protest are Kaitlyn Romoser, Maria de Figueiredo. Both appear to be current or recent research students with no known history of violent activism. While the protest is pro-Black Lives Matter, it does not appear to be directly sanctioned or affiliated with BLM.
SITREP: The protest is scheduled to take place on 2 August 2020 from 1700-2000. The assembly point is 29th and Texas Ave. Bryan, TX, 77803.
RECOMMENDATION: As of the time of this writing, only 104 people had responded to the protest/march notice. There is no reason to believe that there will be violence associated with this protest. Nor, does it seem like the event will be large enough to cause significant delays or congestion in the area.
Still, as with all BLM-related events, caution should be used if traveling in Bryan-College Station on the afternoon of 2 August.
