PROTEST ADVISORY: FORT WORTH, TEXAS
Protests occurred in East Fort Worth on Wednesday after two incidents at local fast food establishments. One incident involved an employee at Braum's who called a black man a racial slur.
That employee has been fired.
The other incident involved a female employee at Whataburger who wore a Black Lives Matter mask to work. While there's some dispute over whether the employee was fired or quit, a customer complained and the employee is no longer with the company.
RECOMMENDATION: While the demonstrations were peaceful and have concluded, there's always the possibility that the protests will resume. Public pressure and extortion are fixtures of the Black Lives Matter movement and BLM could seek to force concessions from the two companies through a prolonged protest campaign. Nor should it be assumed such demonstrations would be confined to Fort Worth. Braum's and Whataburger are popular fixtures throughout Texas and Oklahoma. BLM-affiliated groups in other locations could decide to join in the effort to pressure the companies.
It is recommended that all AMCON personnel traveling in East Fort Worth exercise strong caution. In addition, caution should be used by all AMCON members when near a Braum's or Whataburger in any location.
