PROTEST ADVISORY: AUSTIN, TEXAS
Austin Area Reformation is hosting a party to celebrate the recent budget cuts to the Austin Police Department.
SIGACT: Austin Area Reformation describes itself as "an activist collective that hosts resources, education, and news coverage centering around Austin protests and reformation ideals." There is no known history of violence from this group. Though, they are Black Lives Matter supporters.
SITREP: The party is set to take place at 1800 on 14 August at Austin City Hall. Austin City Hall is located at 310 W. 2nd Street.
RECOMMENDATION: The announcement for the party tells people to bring food and drinks, along with their own masks. So, while alcohol may be involved it's unlikely this event will turn violent. Though, given that the city hall area is the scene of almost nightly protests, revelers at the Reformation party could decide to join other protests.
The recommendation is to avoid the area around city hall.
