SOUTH REGION INTEL REPORT FOR TEXAS AND LOUISIANA: 26 AUGUST 2020

TEXAS

PROTEST ADVISORY: AUSTIN, TEXAS

There are daily anti-police and Black Lives Matter protests scheduled to take place in Austin, Texas.

SITREP: The daily protests are scheduled to run from 25 August until at least 30 August. The demonstrations will begin at 1800 and continue to at least 0000.

The protests will be focused on Austin Police Department headquarters located at 715 E. 8th Street, and the Capitol Building located at 1100 Congress Avenue.

RECOMMENDATION: Avoid the APD headquarters and Capitol Building from 10 August through 17 August.

PROTEST ADVISORY: AUSTIN, TEXAS

The Star Power Blac Kollective is holding a “White Rage” march, a “pro-black” aimed at elevating blacks and standing against whites who are opposed to black success.

SIGACT: Star Power Blac Kollective began as a movement to enhance visibility and presence of blacks in the entertainment world. However, since the death of George Floyd, the group has morphed into a protest organizing force led by a a man named King Fafah. The group has focused its efforts on organizing in the Austin area and was one of the primary organizers of the marches in honor of Garrett Foster, the AK-47 toting BLM supporter who was shot and killed by an off-duty Fort Hood soldier on 25 July.

This is a BLM-affiliated organization and is not adverse to civil unrest.

SITREP: The protest is scheduled to begin at 1900 on 29 August. Demonstrators are directed to meet at 200 Walter Seaholm Drive Austin, Texas 78701.

RECOMMENDATION: The recommendation is to avoid the area around Seaholm Drive on 29 August.

PROTEST ADVISORY: WEATHERFORD, TEXAS
A group is planning to protest in support of removing a confederate soldier statue in Weatherford, Texas.

SIGACT: It’s not entirely clear which group is planning the protest. However, in July, a Fort Worth-based social justice group known as Enough is Enough came to Weatherford to protest the same statue and were met by a group of armed citizens.

Members of both groups were armed and the incident quickly escalated.

Eventually, the Enough is Enough members boarded the buses they came in on and left the area.
It is highly likely that Enough is Enough is involved in this protest as well.

SITREP: The protest is set to begin at noon, on 29 August at the Parker County Courthouse. The courthouse is located at 1112 Santa Fe Drive Weatherford, Texas 76086.

RECOMMENDATION: The first time Fort Worth-area activists attempted to protest the confederate statue, there were reports that Enough is Enough organizers were surprised by the size and intensity of the locals who showed up to counter them.

That will not be the case this time.

It’s likely that an even larger group will come to Weatherford and they will likely be armed. The threat level for this particular protest is extremely high. Especially considering the shootings taking place this week at riots in Kenosha.

It is recommended in the strongest terms, that AMCON members avoid Weatherford on 29 August.
